the films below represent a range of films shot on 16mm and 35mm that i have been working on recently, as well as a few films falling into a certain tonal range that might be achieved on our project.
from looking at your offline edits, it is pretty obvious that you have gorgeous and moody images at your hands. my approach would be to go with the flow of what the film lab handed you. embracing intense saturations and deep blacks is what i see for this footage.
looking at MORSHINSKA and MINNEAPOLIS you will find the deep richness that can be achieved.
OBSTLER is a good example for footage that has been shot with a certain boldness. the hard separation of colors by using direct and intense light sources is something we also find in the darker scenes of our AUDI footage.
&OTHER STORIES, BROKE PARIS and BERGFILM showcase two ways of handling the daylight footage. depending on the characteristics of the actual scan of the AUDI footage, we will be able to decide for a clean and soft feeling or a look that embraces a nice analogue offset in color.
i am very much looking forward to getting my hands on these images!
